I'm always looking for interesting news about cheerleading and cheerleaders, and this news clip from MTV.com is right up that alley. Did you know that Panettiere played the role of young Sheryl, the coach's strong-willed. football-spouting, daughter in "Remember The Titans"? I did not know this.

Do you think Panettiere's roles are stereotypical? Do these roles help or hurt the cheerleading industry? Would you like to see more true to life cheerleading roles portraited in movies and television? Why is it that producers and directors continue to show our sport in such ways that prevent outsiders from realizing the true dedication that goes into becoming a great cheerleader? Your comments are welcome!
